Tartalmi kivonat:The Act LXXXVII of 1998 introduced Section 175/B, into the Hungarian Penal Code to penalise trafficking in persons. In this study the author outlines briefly the antecedents of the prevailing provision and examines the impact of the international instruments (especially the Slavery Convention signed on 25 September 1926) by the formulation of Section 175/B of the Hungarian Penal Code. The author gives a comprehensive analysis of the protected interest and the definition of the crime (both the elements of actus reus and the mens rea). Furthermore, the attempt and preparation of, and complicity in trafficking in persons are dealt. Finally, the author examines the special provisions relating the punishment of this crime.
