The majority of these were formed in the beginning of the 20th century, in the era of Hungarian Catholic Revival. The most importance societies were the Franciscan Third Order, the Mary-congregations, the Society of Altar, the Society of Blessed Virgin’s Immaculate Heart and the Living Rosary Societies. The seventh of Pécs Catholic people, about 6000 believers fell under one of societies so the importance of these was very great in the church history. |
