| Tartalmi kivonat: | The centre of the rerecruiting area of 38thinfantry regiment of Austria-Hungary was Kecskemét. Most of the soldiers of Kecskemét,Cegléd, Nagykőrös, Kiskőrös, Kalocsa, Félegyháza and Halas spent their military service in that regiment. In the first world war the infantrymen of the 38thregiment fought at all fronts, including Russian, Italian and Serbian. The study shows the everydays the soldiers with the help of source details. The systems of trenches were worked as the living place 406of the armymen. They tried to make these homelike and comfortable. The places of regeneration were the camps which built especially for that exercise where the soldiers grew vegetables and learned to write and read. In the trenches the eating, cleaning and the letter writing were the basic tasks of the soldiers. The religion was the “shelter” which gave strength for the armymen. The pastors of all faiths helped the soldiers in their psychical problems. |
