Tartalmi kivonat: | This material is written about the Puritans. It consists of thirteen chapters. The first five of them talk about why these English people left England and moved to America, why they settled down in New England and what colonies they have established. The others show their life, their habits and their relationships with each other. We can find out how many members they had in a family household, what they did and worked there, what they wore, what kind of houses they had and why, how many children they had and how they were educated. We can also discover what was the relationship between husbands and wives, between parents and children. To demonstrate the Puritans' life I used some colonists' original letters, census materials and descriptions. |
