Tartalmi kivonat: | In the UK, the Duty of Candour was brought into force, which imposes a legal duty – since 2014 – on healthcare providers to be honest. Because of that, and the positive statistics that assure the importance of honest communication, I decided to look at the Hungarian legislative and ethical environment. Firstly I analyzed the bioethical background through deontology and consequentalist theories to better understand the moral aspects of honesty. Secondly, I examined the accurate general legislative provisions of informing the patients, to clarify that not all details that are considered general apply to subsequent information. Lastly, I looked at the relevant sections of the Act CLIV of 1997 and the Code of Ethics of the Hungarian Medical Association to see the depth of the information. |
